Appel JPI-Climate – SOLSTICE – Enabling Societal Transformation in the Face of Climate Change
SOLSTICE is a joint transnational call for proposals. We’re inviting the Social Sciences and Humanities to take the lead and submit proposals that address the societal impact of climate change.
SOLSTICE consists of 10 European countries, who have partnered to offer funding opportunities to all SSH communities. If you have an innovative proposal that can inform or even trigger change, submit it to us on this platform!
‘We need to manage a major transition or it will manage us. The insights of Social Sciences and Humanities are essential to informing a positive transformation in the face of climate change’ – Frank McGovern, Joint Programme Initiative Climate Chair.
Transformational change requires innovative approaches and novel interdisciplinary collaboration. We encourage inclusion of those who are not traditional participants in climate change research, as well as outreach to non-scientific societal actors. Building on emerging trends of research, we want your proposal to address one or more of the following topics:
Social justice and participation
Sense making, cultural meaning and risk perception
Transformative finance and economy
Our submission platform is online, however the website is still undergoing some modifications. Some data entry fields may change in the coming week, but you are welcome to create your account and start building your proposal. We’ll be accepting proposals until the 3rd of February 2020. To learn more about the call and the full scope of our topics, please read our guidelines for applicants!
SOLSTICE is launched by the Joint Programming Initiative “Connecting Climate Knowledge for Europe” (JPI Climate) is a pan-European intergovernmental initiative gathering European countries to jointly coordinate climate research and fund new transnational research initiatives that provide useful climate knowledge and services for post-COP21 Climate Action.
